Change of evening for Teams session from September
Our Teams evening face to face session is changing from the first Friday in each month to the first Thursday with effect from September.
We hope this will be a more convenient time and will result in more teams competing.
We now have a record number of teams competing in the Wessex League evening and daytime competitions who would be very welcome to come to practice on Thursday evenings, as would all members, whatever your previous experience of playing in a team.
Here is a link to more details.
In the meantime, the next Teams session will be on Friday, 7 August - we would be delighted to see you then.

Delia Howarth
It is with great sadness to announce that Delia Howarth died on 24th July.
Delia was a long standing member of the club, playing on Tuesday afternoons before COVID, and then on Monday afternoons.
She was diagnosed with terminal cancer at the beginning of the year, she bore her illness with great dignity. Never complaining, she was always pleased to see friends and share happy times together.
Funeral details are to be confirmed.

Change of competition - Wednesdays Online at 7pm
Please note that now our new competition year has started, the 4th Wednesday of the month will be for X-Imped pairs. This follows a unanimous committee decision to phase out Mixed Pairs sessions.
What are X-Imps? In a nutshell, X-Imped scoring demands a strategy similar to Teams games - ie getting an overtrick is not as important as ensuring you make your contract. Also you should avoid extreme, negative scores as they are far more costly than just getting a bottom. Want to know more? click here for one of many links on the web.
